GlossaryCirculating supply
Circulating supply
Circulating supply shows how many bitcoin have been created so far. It grows with every block on a fixed schedule and approaches the cap of 21 million.
How to read it
- Circulating supply is not a trading signal but a schedule. At each halving the curve bends and rises more gently afterward.
- Annual new issuance relative to circulating supply is Bitcoin's inflation rate. Since 2024 it has been below 1% a year.
- Lost coins are included. The amount that can actually be traded is smaller.
Good to know
- Bitcoin only. One value per day; the pane header reads “Circulating supply · On-chain”.
- Supply growth is a building block of “mantacharts: Bitcoin Energy Value”.
- The only settings are in the Style tab: Appearance (default: line).
