IndicatorsLayers and saved views
Layers and saved views
The Layers panel shows sources, widgets, indicators, and drawings in one place and saves whole setups as a view.
The Layers panel is the overview of everything on your chart: the symbol's data source, the order book heatmap, the widgets in the columns, every indicator, and every drawing. Here you hide layers, open their settings, and save setups as a view that you can restore with one click.
Opening
- Top bar → Layers, or
- AltShiftL.
If the top bar gets too narrow, Layers moves under “More”. The panel opens on the right as a sidebar. You can drag its edge to make it wider or narrower, and the gear at the top opens the settings dialog for all indicators.
The sections
Sources
To the right of the heading, a dot shows the state of the live data: “Live”, “Connecting…”, “Offline”, or “No live data”.
- The symbol with its ticker and pair (for example BTC and BTC:USDT). The eye hides the price. Below it is the Trades row with the exchanges the chart combines (“Aggregated” or a single exchange) and how long ago the last update was, such as “0.8s”.
- Volume sits under the symbol. The eye shows and hides the volume bars. If there is no volume on the chart yet, the eye adds it.
- Order book heatmap with a gear for its own settings and an eye to turn it on and off. The Order book row below it likewise names the books the heatmap adds up (“Aggregated” or a single exchange).
Widgets
Every widget in your columns with its name and detail, for example “Order book · Perps” or “Trade tape · Spot+Perps”. The eye hides it without removing it.
Indicators
Every indicator with a color marker, its full name, and a badge showing where it is drawn:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| MAIN CHART | over the candles |
| PANE 2, PANE 3… | in its own pane, counted from the top (pane 1 is the price) |
| WIDGET | as a widget in a column |
To the right are the gear (settings), the trash can (remove, with “Undo” in the message), and the eye. This is also where you bring back hidden panes that have disappeared from the chart. If the chart is empty, you'll see + Add indicator here, which opens the indicators menu.
If you have opened an idea from the ideas section on the chart, it appears here as “Idea: {title}” with the eye and trash can.
Drawings
Every drawing on the chart, with its tool's icon and a name: for text and notes, the text itself; otherwise the tool, such as “Fib retracement” or “Elliott impulse wave (1–5)”. An Elliott count is one row, not one per wave. In a multi-chart, this lists the drawings of the chart you last drew in.
- Clicking the row selects the drawing on the chart and moves the chart to it if it's currently out of view.
- To the right are the padlock (lock), the trash can (remove, with “Undo” in the message; disabled for locked drawings), and the eye (hide).
The list follows the chart: whatever you draw, move, delete, or bring back with undo shows up here immediately.
The double arrow at the top right (Collapse all) collapses sources, indicators, and drawings.
Saved views
A view is a set of indicators with their settings and visibility. At the top of the panel, you open the Saved views list. The selected view has a check mark, and each view shows how many layers it contains.
The four built-in views
| View | What it sets up |
|---|---|
| Standard | order book heatmap and volume |
| Order flow | order book heatmap (bid and ask), volume, CVD, open interest, and funding rate |
| Clean chart | no indicators, order book and tape widgets hidden |
| Heatmap only | only the order book heatmap in the classic style, tape widget hidden |
Saving your own view
- Set up the chart the way you want it.
- Open Saved views and click + Save current view.
- The view appears as “View 1” (then “View 2”, and so on), and a message confirms that it was saved.
A view saves the indicators with all their settings, which of them are hidden, which widgets are hidden, and the heatmap's appearance. Your views are stored in your settings. To delete a view of your own, use the × in its row.
Applying a view
Clicking a view replaces the indicators on the chart with those of the view. Indicators that appear in both keep their settings. The change is a single step; CtrlZ (Mac: CmdZ) brings back the previous state.
