The terminal on your phone

How the mobile view is laid out, what the five tabs show, and where to find Menu, More and the sheets.

On a smartphone, you open the terminal in the browser, just as on a computer. There's no separate app you need to install. If the terminal is narrower than 760 pixels, it switches to a dedicated view for small screens. This also happens on a computer if you drag the window very narrow.

You work with the same setup as on your computer: the same indicators, widgets, drawings and, when you're signed in, the same workspaces and layouts. What you change on your phone shows up on your computer.

How the screen is laid out

From top to bottom:

  1. The app bar with your profile. It always stays visible.
  2. The chart's top bar (only when the chart is visible).
  3. The chart with the legend at the top left and the pen for the drawing tools at the bottom left.
  4. The widget bar with one button per widget, or an open widget in the lower half.
  5. The tabs at the bottom edge.

The chart's top bar

ElementWhat it does
Logo and tickeropens the symbol search
Interval (for example “1h”)opens the interval picker
Chart type iconopens the chart type picker
Indicators icon with a numberopens the indicators menu at full height
Bell with a pluscreates a new alert

The tabs

TabWhat you see
WatchlistThe watchlist widget at full height
ChartChart, widget bar and the chart's top bar
MarketsThe market scanner as a page of its own
IdeasThe ideas widget at full height
MenuThe menu page with all areas

If the watchlist or ideas widget is missing from your columns, the tab quietly adds it. If both widget columns are full, the last widget in the right column makes room. A message tells you which one was replaced and has an Undo button.

Switching tabs closes open sheets, the menu page and some pages such as chart settings, symbol search, scanner, journal, layout browser and snapshot. Whatever can hold a draft stays open, such as an unfinished alert, the settings, the publish dialog, Code or the theme editor.

If you choose a symbol anywhere, in the search, the watchlist, the scanner or an idea, the terminal jumps to that symbol's chart.

More

The three dots on the right of the top bar open More:

  • Share snapshot
  • Create alert
  • Chart settings
  • Start replay (or End replay while a replay is running)
  • Ratio and spread
  • Layouts
  • Code & backtest
  • All features

The menu page

The Menu tab opens a page with everything that isn't directly on the chart. At the top is your profile card with avatar, name and plan (“Free plan”, “Plus plan” or “Pro plan”). A tap on it opens your account settings.

AreaEntries
CHARTIndicators (with count), Create alert, Chart settings, Share snapshot, Layouts
TRADINGWidgets, Paper trading, Journal, Market scanner
TOOLSCode & backtest, Theme editor, All features
ACCOUNTProfile, Subscription (with your plan), Release notes, Documentation

The entries under CHART first show the chart and then open their sheet or page on top of it. Release notes shows “New” as long as you haven't seen the latest entries. Documentation opens these pages in a new tab.

Sheets, pages and back

What's a dropdown on a computer opens a sheet on your phone that slides in from the bottom: interval, chart type, More, Add widget, drawing tools, layouts, analyses, exchanges and multi-chart. The indicators menu fills the full height between the top bar and the tabs.

How to close a sheet:

  • tap Close
  • tap the dimmed area above it
  • drag the sheet's header down or swipe down briefly
  • use your phone's back gesture or back button

Larger dialogs such as the chart settings, the settings or the layout browser open as a separate page above the tabs. Smaller ones such as the alert dialog come up as a sheet from the bottom, which you can also drag down to dismiss. Messages appear just above the tabs.

The back gesture always closes what's on top first: a dialog, the context menu, a sheet, a page such as Code or Layers, or the menu page. Only when nothing is open anymore does back leave the terminal.

All features

Not everything from the computer has its own button on a phone. You reach compare, analyses, exchanges, multi-chart, Layers, undo and redo, fullscreen, save layout and the scale toggles through More → All features or Menu → All features. That's the super search: type what you're looking for, for example “Save layout” or “Logarithmic”.

Note. The time range buttons from the chart's footer bar (1D to All) aren't available on a phone. Zoom with two fingers instead, see Gestures and drawing.
