GlossaryMiner revenue
Miner revenue
Miner revenue is everything Bitcoin miners earn in a day: the newly created coins from the block subsidy plus the transaction fees, in US dollars. It shows how much the network pays for its security.
How to read it
- Revenue is the miners' budget. Together with their costs, it decides whether mining pays.
- Halving: The subsidy in Bitcoin halves overnight. In US dollars, only a rising price or higher fee income can offset that. Less efficient miners often shut down afterwards.
- Falling revenue with a falling price puts miners under pressure; some then sell reserves.
- The share of fees shows how far the network already sustains itself without new coins. “Transaction fees” shows the fees alone.
Good to know
- Bitcoin only. One value per day; because the number of blocks per day varies, so does the series. The pane header reads “Miner revenue · On-chain”.
- “mantacharts: BTC production cost” estimates what a Bitcoin costs to produce.
- The only settings are in the Style tab: Appearance (default: line).
