The percentage change of the close from its level a year ago. The comparison point moves along with every candle: this shows you whether growth is accelerating or merely reflects a weak prior year.

How to read it
- Zero crossing: The price is below or above its level from a year ago.
- Slope: If the curve falls while it is still positive, the price keeps growing, but more slowly.
Good to know
The window counts candles, not calendar days. On a symbol that only trades on market days (stocks, indices), 365 daily candles span a little over 17 months. For a calendar year, set about 252 there. The study is intended for daily to weekly charts.
