AlertsManage alerts
Manage alerts
The Alerts widget with list and history, and how to edit alerts, turn them on and off, delete them and move them directly on the chart.
You find your alerts in three places: in the Alerts widget, in the chart settings and as lines on the chart.
The Alerts widget
Open it through Top bar → Widgets → Alerts or Top bar → More → Alerts. There the entry also shows how many alerts are currently turned on.
The widget has two tabs, Alerts and History, and at the top the + Alert button for a new alert at the last price.
Alerts tab
This lists all your alerts, across all symbols. Each row shows:
- the bell and the name of the alert, grayed out when it's off,
- a line with the settings, such as “Crosses 85,000.00 · Once · Unlimited”. Alerts on a symbol other than the one on the chart have the symbol in front, for example “ETH · …”. If an alert has further conditions, it says “+2 conditions”,
- for price alerts the distance to the current price, such as “+1.23% away”, for script alerts “Script”,
- on the right a toggle to turn it on and off and × to delete.
A click on the row opens the alert in the Edit alert dialog. If you change something there, apply it with Save.
At the bottom of the widget you see which channels your alerts can currently report through, for example “Terminal · Sound · Telegram · Push”. Settings next to it opens the chart settings on the Alerts tab.
History tab
The history lists every trigger with its time (today as a time, yesterday as “Yesterday”, before that with a date), the alert's name and the channels it went to, such as “Terminal · Sound · Discord”. It keeps the last 50 entries. Clear history deletes it.
Alerts on the chart
Price alerts appear on the chart of their symbol as a horizontal line with a bell.
- Move: Drag the line to a new price. When you let go, the terminal saves the new value. Esc while dragging cancels, and the line jumps back.
- Edit: A click on the bell opens the alert in the dialog.
- Show and hide: Right-click the price scale, then check or uncheck Alerts under Labels and Lines.
- Remove all: Right-click the chart, then Remove 1 alert or Remove {n} alerts. This deletes all alerts of this symbol, with Undo in the popup.
If a drawing tool is active, a click on the line places a drawing point instead of grabbing the line.
Chart settings
Right-click the chart → Settings… → Alerts tab shows “Alerts on {symbol}”: only the alerts of the symbol on the chart, with a toggle and trash can. The number on the tab says how many there are. + Alert creates a new one here.
Turn on and off
An alert that's turned off isn't checked, but stays saved.
- Once alerts turn themselves off after triggering. Turn them back on if you want them to report again.
- An expired alert turns itself off with “Alert expired”. If you turn it back on, its expiration starts over.
- After being turned on, the alert starts fresh. A crossing only counts from the next reading.
The same applies when you change the condition, value, source or trigger: the alert forgets its old state, so a moved line doesn't “cross” from the old value.
Delete
Delete an alert with × in the widget or the trash can in the chart settings. The popup “Alert deleted · {name}” offers Undo for a few seconds.
Signed out and signed in
- Signed out, alerts and history live only in this browser. Other tabs in the same browser see changes right away.
- Signed in, they live in your account and are the same on all devices. When you return to another window, it reloads the state.
