Data widgets
News & calendar, COT report, prediction markets, options with GEX, ETF flows, basis & term structure, seasonality, company financials for stocks and the pre-IPO widgets.
These widgets put data next to the chart that doesn't come from the order book: news, events, positioning, options, fund flows and statistics. How to add widgets is explained in the overview.
News & calendar
Two tabs in one widget: News for current headlines, Calendar for economic events.
News
At the top, you choose a category: All, Crypto, Macro, On-chain or Exchanges. Each story shows:
- the time in your time zone (“14:30” for today, “Yesterday 14:30”, otherwise with the date),
- the source and, for an important story, the IMPORTANT badge,
- the headline,
- ticker chips with the 24h change if the story mentions a cryptocurrency. Clicking a chip opens the symbol in the chart.
Clicking a story expands its summary, and a second click collapses it. The newest story is already expanded when you open the widget, if it has a summary. On an expanded story, the Open story arrow icon opens the article at the source in a new tab.
Stories appear in the source's own wording, which means in English.
IMPORTANT goes, for example, to Fed monetary policy statements, SEC announcements on crypto or ETFs, and headlines about hacks, insolvencies, halted withdrawals, rate decisions, ETF approvals, record highs or drops of 10% or more. This classification follows fixed keyword rules, not an editorial team.
Calendar
The calendar shows events for one week from today, grouped by day (“TODAY · FRI OCT 9”). The chips filter by All, Macro and Crypto. Each event has:
- the time in your time zone,
- a country code (the tooltip names the country) or, for crypto events, the coin logo,
- the name of the event,
- three bars for importance (1 to 3),
- for economic data, Current, Forecast and Previous.
Included are:
- Economic data for the current week, with forecast and previous value.
- FOMC rate decision and FOMC press conference.
- Expiries: Deribit options on BTC and ETH every Friday at 08:00 UTC (weekly, monthly and quarterly expiry) and the CME futures on Bitcoin and Ether on the last Friday of the month.
Frequent events have a standard name (“CPI y/y”), while rare ones keep their original English name.
COT report
How large market participants are positioned on the US futures exchanges, from the CFTC's weekly Commitments of Traders report.
Market and report
- Market selection: The default is Automatic (current symbol): the widget takes the futures market that matches the chart, such as CME Bitcoin for BTC or Gold for XAU. If there is no report for the chart symbol, it shows CME Bitcoin and says so. There is no report for Brent; there, the widget shows WTI crude and says so as well. In the menu, you can also pick any market as a fixed choice, grouped under CRYPTO and MACRO & COMMODITIES.
- Report: on the left, the market's own report (TFF for financial futures, Disagg. for commodities), on the right Legacy.
The choices include CME Bitcoin, CME Micro Bitcoin, CME Ether, CME Micro Ether, CME Solana and CME XRP, as well as S&P 500 E-mini, Nasdaq-100 E-mini, 10Y T-Note, 2Y T-Note, Fed Funds, Euro FX, Japanese yen, British pound, US Dollar Index, Gold, Silver, Copper, WTI crude and Natural gas.
Below that are the OI (open contracts) with its change from the previous week and As of Tue …, the report's reference date.
Positioning
One row per trader group, such as Dealer, Asset Manager and Leveraged Funds in the TFF report or Commercials and Non-Commercials in the Legacy report:
- Net position in contracts and its change from the previous week,
- a bar showing the long share against the short share,
- the Index: the net position compared with the last three years, 0 = low, 100 = high. At 90 or above it shows NEAR 3-YEAR HIGH, at 10 or below NEAR 3-YEAR LOW.
Clicking a row opens its history.
History
Under History, you see a group's net position as an area over 1Y or 3Y, with a dashed zero line. You switch groups with the chips at the top, and hovering shows the value for that week. Below are Current, Δ 4 weeks and the high and low for the selected period.
Prediction markets
What prediction markets expect for Bitcoin and for macro events.
Each row shows the question, the probability in percent with a bar, the platform with its trading volume and the change over 24 hours in percentage points (“+1.2 pp”). If there was no price a day ago, it shows “–”. The markets with the highest volume are at the top.
Under the gear icon, you choose the Category:
- All
- Bitcoin: price levels and price targets for BTC
- Macro: Fed rate decisions and inflation
The questions appear in the platform's own wording, usually in English.
Options
The options board for BTC and ETH, depending on which of the two is on the chart. For other symbols, the widget says “No options data for ….” Three tabs:
Overview
- Net GEX per 1% move: the dealers' gamma exposure in dollars, with a classification. Positive means “dealers trade against the move, which dampens volatility”, negative means “dealers trade with the move, which can amplify swings”.
- Call wall, Put wall, Gamma flip and Max pain as price levels, plus Put/call (OI) and ATM IV 30 d (at-the-money implied volatility at 30 days).
- A Puts · Strike · Calls ladder with the GEX per strike around the current price.
IV smile
The implied volatility per strike for an expiry you choose with the chips. With Comparison, you overlay a second expiry as a dashed line, or you choose No comparison. A dashed yellow line shows the current price, and the axis runs from −25% to +25% around it. Below are ATM IV, Put skew (±10%), IV at −10% and IV at +10%.
Expiries
For each expiry, the ATM IV, the expected Move in percent and the Range in prices. The formula is shown with it: price × IV × √(days / 365). With a probability of about 68%, the price stays within this range.
Expiries for GEX
Under the gear icon, you set which expiries go into the GEX numbers: All, Through monthly expiry or Next expiry only. The line in the widget header names the exact date, such as “through Oct 30”. IV smile and Expiries always show all expiries.
mantacharts calculates gamma with Black-Scholes from the mark IV of each individual option. GEX uses the usual assumption from the dealers' point of view: calls count as positive, puts as negative. So it's a model, not a reported position.
ETF flows
The daily inflows and outflows of the US spot ETFs for Bitcoin and Ethereum.
- At the top, you choose Bitcoin or Ethereum.
- Net flow on …: the flow of the last reported trading day. If you hover over a bar in the chart, the number shows that day.
- Chart: the last 30 trading days as bars (inflow and outflow) with the cumulative line.
- Last 7 days, 30 trading days, Since launch and Assets (AUM).
- Table per fund: the last day, 7 days and Since launch. For Bitcoin IBIT, FBTC, GBTC, ARKB, BTC, BITB and HODL, for Ethereum ETHA, ETHE, FETH, ETH, ETHW and CETH.
The numbers change once per trading day.
Basis & term structure
How much premium the futures contracts carry over the spot price, annualized. For BTC and ETH, depending on which one is on the chart.
- At the top, you choose the exchange: CME, Deribit, Binance or OKX.
- Annualized basis · expiry …: the premium of the first contract with at least 60 days to run (otherwise the last one), in percent per year. Below it, the classification: contango (futures above the spot price) or backwardation (below it).
- Term structure: each expiry as a point by time to expiry. The yellow point is the perp funding, also annualized, for comparison.
- Table: Expiry, Days, Premium and p.a., with the perp at the top.
For other symbols, the widget says “No futures curve for ….”
Seasonality
How a symbol has performed on average by month, weekday and time of day. It works for any single symbol, not for ratio and spread charts.
Month
A heatmap with one row per year since 2018 (or since the symbol began trading) and one column per month, colored by return. Hover over a cell to see that month's return. The current month is marked with a dashed outline and doesn't count in any statistic.
Click a month at the top to see its figures: average, median and “8 of 10 years positive”. Months are calculated by UTC calendar days.
Weekday and hour
Bars for the average return per weekday (Monday first) or per hour. Hover over a bar to see its value. Below are the strongest and weakest day or the strongest and weakest hour, each with its Avg. return. Days and hours follow your time zone, which the label names.
For stocks, futures and forex, the widget calculates the weekdays from daily candles, without weekends, and groups the hours in the time zone of their exchange.
Stocks: company financials
Four widgets for stocks: by default, every stock has two to the left of the chart (Earnings per share above Revenue) and two to the right (Key metrics above Analysts). Every stock shows the same figures in the same arrangement; if a company is missing a figure, it shows “—” and the tooltip says why. An ETF has no earnings, no revenue and no analysts, and the widgets say so instead of drawing zeros. There are no company financials for other asset classes.
- Earnings per share: the last four reported quarters, the reported EPS (filled) against the analysts' estimate (hollow): turquoise if it beat the estimate, red if not. Next to them, dashed, the estimate for the next quarter with the date of the earnings report. Below each quarter are the value and the surprise. The quarters are calendar quarters so that every stock reads the same way; the company's fiscal quarter is in the tooltip.
- Revenue: the revenue of the last four quarters as bars and the estimate for the next quarter as a dashed bar, each with the growth from the same quarter of the previous year where known. Above that, the revenue of the last twelve months. Revenue is shown in the currency the company reports in (Alibaba: CNY).
- Analysts: at the top, the median price target with its distance from the price, the analysts' rating and how many analysts there are. Below that, the price over the last year, which fans out between the lowest and the highest price target twelve months ahead, with a line to the median target and a dot at each target. Below the chart are the three targets, Low, Median and High, each with its distance from the price; if an analyst firm names exactly the highest or lowest target, it's in the tooltip. Then the ratings from Strong buy to Strong sell with their counts; a bar's tooltip gives the count three months ago and the firms in it. For US stocks, all analyst firms of the last twelve months follow with rating and price target, the highest target at the top (on a green background), the lowest at the bottom (on red); ▲ or ▼ shows whether the firm last raised or lowered its target. The data is updated daily.
- Key metrics: P/E (TTM), forward P/E, P/S, P/B, PEG, EV/EBITDA, market cap, dividend yield, beta and the date of the next earnings report, below them the 52-week range with the price inside it. P/E is shown for every stock with twelve months of earnings figures; if the company is making a loss, it's negative and marked “Loss”. The analysts' price target and rating are in the Analysts widget.
Pre-IPO: before going public
Three widgets for companies that aren't listed yet (the Pre-IPO tab of the symbol search). By default, Valuation sits above Exposure to the left of the chart, and the IPO radar sits above the exchange news to the right. Price, alerts, position calculator and seasonality aren't available before the IPO, because a private company has no price.
- Valuation: at the top, the latest valuation with the step from the previous round (×2.6 or +48%). Below that, the last six rounds with a valuation as bars, each with the round, the month and the step underneath; a sale of existing shares (tender) is dashed, because it brings the company no new money. A bar's tooltip gives the amount and the lead investors. Then capital raised, number of rounds, the change over twelve months, revenue, valuation divided by revenue, and employees.
- IPO radar: when the IPO will happen and at what value, according to the odds on Polymarket and Kalshi. At the top, the earliest deadline to which the market gives at least 50%; below it, the expected market value on the first trading day and the valuation at the IPO as a distribution across ranges, with the median, the weighted mean and the distance from the last private valuation. Then the deadlines for the IPO and for its announcement, each with its odds and the change over 24 hours in percentage points, and the leading odds for ticker and exchange. Once the company is listed, the radar shows ticker, price and daily change.
- Exposure: where you can already trade the company today. Pre-IPO perps on Hyperliquid with price, daily change, open interest and funding; if the contract quotes the valuation itself (Entropy's Anthropic perp: 1,950 stands for $1.95 trillion), the valuation is shown, with the distance from the last round. Tokens that represent shares, with their price, as long as they trade more than $10,000 a day. Below that, listed companies with a stake (Microsoft in OpenAI, Amazon and Alphabet in Anthropic) and comparable listed companies, each with price; clicking one opens its chart.
