Order flow overview
What order flow shows in the terminal, where to find the tools, what each plan includes and how exchange aggregation controls it all.
Candles show where the price was. Order flow shows what is happening behind it: which orders are waiting in the book, who is buying or selling aggressively, at which prices the volume traded and where positions are being forcibly closed.
Order flow is available for cryptocurrencies. For stocks, indices, forex and macro series, the menu entries stay visible but are grayed out and marked “no data”, for example with the reason “AAPL has no order flow volume.” The exceptions are TPO and the volume profiles: they calculate from candles and therefore run on every symbol.
Where to find the tools
- Top bar → Indicators (or
/), Order flow tab: order book heatmap, trade bubbles, CVD, volume delta, Footprint, TPO / Market Profile, Volume Profile (VPVR), Session Volume Profile, liquidations, liquidation heatmap and the Hyperliquid stop/TP map. Open interest and funding rate are there too. + Add puts an entry on the chart, ✓ Active shows what is already running. - Top bar → Chart type, group ORDERFLOW: Footprint and TPO / Market Profile replace the candles there.
- Top bar → Widgets: order book, trade tape, DOM ladder, liquidations, liquidity and volume stats next to the chart.
- AltM (Mac: ⌥M) turns the order book heatmap on and off.
- Layers (AltShiftL) → Saved views → Order flow sets up the heatmap, volume, CVD, open interest and funding rate in one step, with the heatmap's profile at the right edge.
To open a tool's settings, double-click its row in the legend at the top left or use the gear that appears when you hover. Tools in their own pane below the chart (CVD, volume delta, liquidations) have the gear in their header. How the legend, panes and settings dialog work in general is explained in the indicators overview.
What each plan includes
| Tool | Plan |
|---|---|
| Order book heatmap | Plus |
| Liquidation heatmap | Plus |
| Footprint | Pro |
| TPO / Market Profile | Pro |
| Hyperliquid stop/TP map | Pro |
| CVD, volume delta | all plans |
| Trade bubbles | all plans |
| Volume Profile, Session Volume Profile | all plans |
| Liquidations | all plans |
| Order book, trade tape, DOM ladder | all plans |
Locked entries have a Plus or Pro badge in the menu. Clicking one shows what that plan includes.
Exchange aggregation
Exchange aggregation sets which exchanges and which market feed the order flow data. You open it in the top bar with the button showing the number of exchanges, for example 7 exchanges, or through the super search (CtrlK, Mac: CmdK) with “Exchange aggregation”. The subtitle says what it controls: “Applies to chart, heatmap, order book and trade tape”.
- At the top, choose the Market: Spot, Perps or Both (default).
- Check the exchanges that should count. Each row shows the market type (spot · perp, spot or perp) and the exchange's share of the 24h volume of the selected market, as a bar and in percent.
- The summary is at the bottom, for example “7 exchanges · 93% of 24h volume”. Binance only switches to Binance with spot and perps, All checks all exchanges.
Seven exchanges are active by default, and you can add more. At least one exchange must stay active, otherwise the terminal reports “At least one exchange must be active”.
What you should know:
- A row can show a status instead of the market type: “No open perpetual”, “No spot market” or “Not listed”, if the exchange does not carry the coin in the selected market.
- The selection applies to cryptocurrencies only. For other symbols the button opens nothing.
