GlossaryOrder book top levels
Order book top levels
Order book top levels show the largest walls in the current order book: on each side of the price, the price levels that stand out most from the book, as lines with their amount. Buy walls sit below the price, sell walls above it. The history shows where walls stood earlier and which were pulled and which were traded, including before you opened the chart.
How to read them
- Thick, bright line that stands for a long time: a wall that has been waiting for a long time. The price can turn at it.
- Pulled wall (×) just before the price: The order was probably only meant to make an impression. If this repeats at the same price, it is often spoofing.
- Traded wall (dot): The price worked through the orders. The candles afterward show whether it turned.
- Together with the order book heatmap, you can see how long a wall has been in the book and how large it is now.
Limitations
- From the moment the chart opens, the indicator reads the book once per second; before that, the book per candle. In replay it shows the walls up to the replay time, without amounts at the edge.
- A wide grouping merges nearby orders into one wall, a fine one separates them.
- Nobody on the outside can know whether a pulled wall really was spoofing; the pattern only suggests it.
- Order book top levels are only available for cryptocurrencies.
