Themes
Light and dark, the default mantacharts theme, the color themes, Pixel with its LED display, Christmas and custom themes from the theme editor.
A theme determines how the terminal looks: background, surfaces, text and the colors for rising and falling prices. The default is mantacharts in black and white. In addition, there are the color themes and two special themes, Pixel and Christmas, with their own effects. All themes share the same structure with small, square corners and differ in their colors. The theme is a personal setting and doesn't belong to a workspace or layout. When you're signed in, it applies on every device.
Where to change the theme
- Profile menu: Dark or Light under Appearance, a click on a color swatch under Color theme
- Chart settings → Theme: Mode Dark or Light, Theme mantacharts, Legacy, Pixel or Christmas, and below them the options of the active theme
- Super search (CtrlK): “Theme: Volt”, “Theme: Pixel” and so on, “Toggle light / dark”, “Theme editor” and “Theme settings…”
Every change applies immediately, and a short message names the new theme. Legacy in the chart settings takes you back to your last color theme if you're currently using mantacharts, Pixel or Christmas.
Light and dark
The default is Dark. With Light, every theme gets its own light version, including Pixel and Christmas. The accent colors are adjusted so that they stay readable on a light background. Very light accents, such as in Mono, become dark.
mantacharts
The default theme: pure black (white in light mode), fine lines, a gray selection and soft pastel colors for the interface. The candles on the chart are in strong turquoise and red.

Pixel
Pixel turns the terminal into a retro display: deep black surfaces, fine white lines, a pixel font for all text, square corners and, if you want, a dot-grid texture. The quick tools wheel also appears in the pixel look.
In the Pixel theme, the Price widget shows an LED display: a dot-matrix panel with scan lines, LED digits with faintly glowing residual segments, a mini price history and range made of segments, a scrolling ticker and a segment display for buy pressure and selling. In the widget's settings, the appearance is then called LED instead of Normal. Simple turns it off.

Christmas
Christmas bathes the terminal in midnight blue with red and gold, with green rising candles and red falling candles. Added to that are snow, a string of lights under the top bar, icicles, snow caps on the widgets and a Santa hat on the Price widget and your avatar.
Options under Chart settings → Theme once Christmas is active. By default, everything is on, and snow is set to Light.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Snow | Off, Light or Strong |
| String lights | the string of lights under the top bar. It flashes on a trade of 1M USD or more. |
| Snow caps on widgets | snow on the widget headers |
| Candy cane candles | red-and-white and green-and-white striped candles |
| Santa button | a golden button in the top bar |
| Ice & frost | icicles under the top bar, frost around the edges, icy borders |
| Snowdrifts | snow that builds up at the bottom edge of the chart over time, with a snowman and snow piles |
| Fireplace glow | a warm glow like that of a fireplace |
| Fireworks & Easter eggs | fireworks on a new high and hidden effects |
| Automatic in December | switches to Christmas in December and back in January |
Automatic in December
If this option is on, the terminal switches to Christmas once in December and remembers your previous theme. In January, it switches back to that theme. If you choose a different theme yourself during this time, the terminal respects your choice and doesn't switch again this season.
Effects
- Santa button: Clicking the golden Santa button sends a sleigh across the chart that drops gifts. Clicking a gift opens “Gift from Santa” with a discount code for mantacharts Pro. You need to be signed in for this, there is one gift per account per day, and the code is valid until January 31. It can only be redeemed once the paid plans start.
- Fireworks: When the price makes a new high of the loaded candles, there are fireworks, at most once a minute.
- Snow piles: Clicking a snow pile freezes the screen. Rub over the frost with the mouse button held down or with your finger until it thaws. After two seconds, Skip appears, and Esc also ends it. On your phone, a snow pile only freezes the screen after a deliberate long press.
- Easter eggs (with Fireworks & Easter eggs): The Konami code (arrow keys up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, then B and A) triggers a reindeer stampede, and typing “hohoho” triggers a snowstorm.
In the super search, you'll find the effects as “Ho ho ho”, “Snowstorm”, “Reindeer stampede” and “Freeze” while Christmas is active.
Custom themes with the theme editor
With the theme editor, you build your own color themes. It requires Plus; without Plus, the upgrade window opens.
To open it:
- Profile menu → the plus sign after the color swatches (Create your own theme)
- Super search → “Theme editor”
- on your phone: Menu → Theme editor
The editor opens as a panel on the right edge (as a sheet on your phone). You see every change immediately across the whole terminal.
TEMPLATES
All mantacharts color themes and your own. Clicking one loads a template's colors as a starting point. Your own themes have an X for deleting them.
COLORS
Seven colors make up a theme: Background, Surfaces and menus, Lines and borders, Text, Up, Down and Notices. Each has a color picker and a field for the hex value, such as #00FFDA.
Below that, the editor measures the contrast, for example “Text on background 14.2:1 · on surfaces 13.6:1”. If the text is hard to read, it warns you: “The text is hard to read. At least 4.5:1 is recommended.”
SAVE
Enter a name (up to 24 characters) and click Save. Without a name, the theme is called “My theme”. The names of the built-in themes are taken; if you use one, you see “Please choose a name of your own”. If you save under a name one of your themes already has, you replace that theme. Saved themes appear in the profile menu with the color swatches.
SHARE
- Copy theme code puts a code starting with
CDT1.on the clipboard. You can share it on Discord, for example. - To use a code, paste it into the field below and click Load. The theme appears immediately as a preview, and it's only kept once you click Save. With an incorrect code, you see “Invalid theme code”.
Done or discard
- Done keeps what you see. If you've changed colors that don't match any existing theme, the editor saves them as a custom theme.
- The X at the top (Discard and close) closes the editor without saving and restores the previous theme.
- Reset to Legacy sets all seven colors to those of Legacy.
